Late 2018:
They got Disney bus drivers a very, very good
raise (this year and going forward are great!!!), keeping most
things that are well liked the same. Similar bid lines and other protections. Good
job!!
Separate from anything Union related
is Florida ballot measures should be voted in 2018 as outlined
below:
(I am putting it here for my own personal notes when I and
friends go vote in November 2018)
https://www.floridatoday.com/story/news/2018/10/01/what-12-amendments-floridas-2018-ballot-mean/1456352002/
Amendment 1: Yes helps homeowners by increasing the value of their
home that is not taxed from 100,000 to 125,000
Amendment 2: Yes permanent cap of 10% annual increase for
non-homestead property tax assessment. If there isn't a cap and
property taxes for rental properties goes up 25% in one year would
hurt the tenant since they pay the property tax increase through
higher rents ALL in one year.
Amendment 3: Yes This amendment gives voters the exclusive right to
decide whether a new casino can open in the state.
Amendment 4: No I do not want felons to vote which includes
people who rape, murder, rob banks.
Amendment 5: Yes This amendment would require a two-thirds vote in
the Florida House and Senate instead of a simple majority — to raise
taxes (not county taxes)
Amendment 6: Yes Expand the scope of victims' rights under the
Florida Constitution. Right now the criminal has more rights
than the victim thus the victim gets hurt again and again....
Amendment 7: Yes add paramedics, emergency medical technicians and
U.S. military members residing in Florida to the list or people who
get death benefits.
Amendment 8: Unknown
Amendment 9: Yes stop drilling for oil on the beach and stop
indoor use of e-cigarettes and vaping
Amendment 10: Yes allow sheriff's to be elected by voting
instead of a political appointee as happens in some counties
Amendment 11: No It would allow convicts out of prison/jail
sooner. If someone has a 20 year conviction, then later the crime
is changed to 5 years, then that person gets out 15 years earlier
than when originally convicted
Amendment 12: Yes It expands ethics rules for public officials
right now they can become a lobbyist within 2 years, this changes it
to 6
Amendment 13: Yes The proposal ends commercial greyhound and other
dog racing by 2020
