Details of Event Customization

You may customize the event database by modifying the way events are presented to the end user. You may show or hide various fields, change a field's default value, change a field's name or make a field required.

Generally you do this using the Customize Event Database screen however in some cases you may need to make these modifications by hand.

This help page describes the contents of three customization files that you will find in each calendar subfolder: eventedit.dat, todoedit.dat and contactedit.dat which control events, todo list items and contact list items respectively.

Groupings

Each of the program's options is stored under a particular section of the customization files called the group header. The group header takes the form:

[GROUP_NAME]

Options, appearing under each group, take the form:

option=value

To modify an option, change its value and save the configuration file.

Each group is described below followed by a detailed list of the options and valid values for that group.

Note: As is true of all of the configuration files in this program lines starting with a semicolon ';' are comments and are ignored.

Very Important Note: the value of each option must be contained on a single line. If the value spans more than a single line the portions of the value on the second and subsequent lines are ignored.

Notice that the group headers correspond directly to the groups on the Event Edit screen.

The following list of options are not available for editing from the Customize Event Database screen. To modify these items you must hand edit the configuration file.
