Merging Calendars The Calendar Merge feature allows you to include events from other calendars in the current calendar. For example you may wish to create a group calendar by automatically including the personal calendars from four or five people. Further, if you merge the group calendar back in to each of the five personal calendars you could enter group wide events that would then appear in each personal calendar. To access the Calendar Merge feature follow these steps:
Each calendar available for merging is presented. Check those calendars that you would like to merge in to this calendar. The next time you access this calendar public events and to do list items from the merged in calendar will be displayed. The Coloring Mode parameter allows you to specify how the included events are colored as they are displayed. By default a Auto Background color is chosen, however you may chose Auto Text color selected instead. Additionally, you may specify specific text and background colors for each merged in calendar directly. Note that this option is only available when the Coloring Mode is one of the Specify... choices. The Show Legend option will either display or not display a legend at the bottom of the current calendar indicating which events come from which merged in calendar. There is a hard coded limit of 20 merged in calendar for any given current calendar. This is for performance reasons. You may not merge together more than 20 calendars. Test the performance of your merged calendars - merging is a performance intensive operation. Merging is not hierarchical. For example you may not create a merged calendar called Sales Department and then merge that calendar into a higher level calendar called All Departments. No events would be merged in to the All Departments calendar. |
